Lunr Administration
The Administration area is Lunr's central configuration hub, where administrators manage access, document structure, workflows, integrations, and the organisation-wide settings that govern how Lunr behaves.
Overview
The Administration area is the central control panel behind everything users see. It is where you decide who can sign in and what they can do, how documents are classified and numbered, how work moves through review and release, and how Lunr connects to the systems around it.
Select Admin in the main menu, marked with a cog icon, to open the area. The entry only appears if you hold an access right that grants it, and what you see once inside depends on the rights you hold, so two administrators can see different menus.
What Administration Covers
The area is organised into seven sections.
| Section | What you configure there |
|---|---|
| Organisation Settings | Your account details and resource usage on the Overview, then the organisation-wide behaviour of Lunr in General Settings and Project Settings with its Change Request configuration pages, plus Reminders and Custom Text. |
| Repository Settings | The document silos themselves: Repositories and their specific configuration settings, the Template Files documents are created from, Import & Export templates, and default Renditions. |
| Content Settings | How documents are classified: Tags, Document Types, Lookup Lists, Sequence Sets, Facilities, and Shortcuts. |
| Access | Who can do what: Users, Groups, Roles, and Companies. |
| Workflow & Numbering | How documents move and how things are numbered: Document Workflows and the Workflow Editor, Checklist Templates, and Document Number Formats. |
| Integrations | How Lunr exchanges data with other systems: Connectors, Form Recognition, Maps, and Title Blocks. |
| System | Operational surfaces: Message Templates, the Email Log, Data Tools, and Events and Audit. |
Access Rights, Roles, and Groups
Every Administration page is gated by access rights, so users only see the areas their role permits.
Access rights are never granted to a person directly. A role bundles a set of access rights, a group is granted one or more roles, and a user belongs to one or more groups. Changing what someone can do therefore usually means changing their group membership rather than editing the person. See Users, Groups, and Roles.
The Administration Pages access right is the umbrella: it opens the full configuration described above. Several areas can also be delegated on their own, without granting it, through narrower rights such as Manage Users, Manage Companies, Manage Lookup Lists, Manage Title Blocks, Manage Checklist Templates, and View Principal Audits. Each page names the rights it needs.
Features That Must Be Enabled
Some Administration pages do not appear until the matching feature is enabled, which is the usual reason a menu entry described here is missing for you.
| The page you cannot find | Is revealed by |
|---|---|
| Checklist Templates | "Are Checklists Enabled?" on the Checklist tab of Project Settings |
| The Templates tab of Email Notifications | "Enable editable email templates" under Notification in General Settings |
| Adding more than one repository | "Enable Multiple Repositories" on the Repositories page |
| The Change Request number formats link | "Enable Change Request sequence numbers?" on the Change Request tab of Project Settings |
Measure Twice, Cut Once
Test all changes in your organisation's test environment before updating production. Since changing settings may have major effects, consult the Lunr support team if you have questions.
